A Holistic Approach to Working with Adolescents and Their Families

Course Overview

This training explores a holistic, family-centered approach to adolescent
behavioral health treatment. Participants will learn how to establish clear
and healthy boundaries within the family system, identify and manage family
crises, recognize parenting styles and family roles, and understand
appropriate levels of care for adolescents. The training will focus on
helping families identify strengths and growth areas without creating
shame. Motivational Interviewing concepts, including OARS, will be
reviewed, along with practical techniques, resources, and communication
strategies designed to increase family stability, connection, and long-term
success.

About The Instructor

Tanya Stuart

LCSW-BACS, LAC, CCS, IEDS

Tanya Stuart began her career in behavioral health in 2000 and has more than 25 years of experience in mental health and substance abuse treatment. She specializes in working with children, adolescents, adults, and families using a holistic, family-centered approach. Tanya is the co-owner of multiple behavioral health programs throughout Southeast Louisiana and serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor at the LSU School of Medicine. Her expertise includes family systems, trauma-informed care, adolescent behavioral health, and addiction treatment.
